Real names · pre-moderated · daily digest · keep it kind, keep it local

A moderator reads every notice before it appears, then neighbours get the daily digest each evening. Replies are private: reply to any notice on the page or straight from the digest email and it goes only to the author's inbox, where they see your name and email address so they can answer you. You can also email a notice to submitsmbi@gmail.com from the address on your account.

The notices on the boards are public. Everything approved also goes out in the evening digest email, which is only sent to registered island neighbours — where your name and street are shown, and your house number never is. Create a free account to post or reply.

Clubs, halls, markets, school and church groups: pin an Event notice, choose the date and time, and tick "Also add it to the community calendar". It goes in the morning email and on the calendar once approved. Please send it at least two days before.

How to pin a notice

Pick a category (notice, for sale or free, lost and found, help wanted, event or announcement), add a short headline, and write your message. You can add one photo. A moderator reads it first, so it usually appears in the next morning's email, but allow up to two days. You can edit it while it's waiting, or withdraw it any time from My notices. Your house number and email stay private.

Welcome to the island noticeboard

This is a new, free noticeboard for Russell, Macleay, Lamb and Karragarra. Neighbours post under their real name and street, a moderator reads every notice first, and one short email goes out each morning with the ferry, the weather, what's on this week and your neighbours' notices. Tap Pin to post your first notice. Keep it kind and keep it local.

A notice is posted to one board only, so this board shows the notices posted to it. Pinned notices sit at the top and drop off after a couple of weeks. Everything approved also goes out in the evening digest email, and past issues are public under Past digests.
