Macleay IslandJencoomercha

The liveliest of the smaller islands, known for its community of artists. The Macleay Island Arts Complex sits in bush gardens overlooking the bay, with a gallery and artisan markets. Dalpura Beach is calm and shallow, great for paddling and picnics, with shaded picnic areas and toilets. Follow the heritage trail to the old saltworks, distillery and lime kiln ruins, or walk from Dalpura Beach to Pat’s Park at the northern tip. Club Macleay, the golf club and the Tingira Boat Club round out the day.

Swim only inside the netted enclosures. Sharks and other wildlife are active in these waters.
